Dear friends and members of the ALSCW,
Literary Matters 7.1 is now available for your reading pleasure. The materials in this issue illustrate literature’s profound ability to connect us both to others and to our inner selves. Literature transports us into situations that are foreign to us, the minds of those unlike us, and allows us to grow—provided we take advantage of the opportunity to join these characters as they navigate the world. It is my hope that, in reading these pieces, you will be moved by the work of these contributors in much the same way they themselves were moved.
I am eager to hear from all of you, so whether you are inclined to offer comments about the materials presented in this issue; submit articles, reviews, or poems for future issues; or share news of your recent publications, do not hesitate to be in touch. Please note that the next deadline, June 15, 2014, is for submissions to Issue 7.3.
Thank you all for your time and for your support of the Association. Take care and enjoy!
Editor, Literary Matters
