Elizabeth Denton
Elizabeth Denton is the author of Kneeling on Rice, Stories (University of Missouri Press). Her short fiction is forthcoming in The American Scholar and has appeared in The Yale Review, The Kenyon Review, The Massachusetts Review, Blackbird, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many other literary magazines. Her story Mick Jagger’s Green-Eyed Daughter won the Yale prize for the best story of the year. She received a Virginia Prize for fiction for Kneeling on Rice. She has taught Creative Writing at Yale University, and for the past 20 years at the University of Virginia, where she directed the Literary Prose program. She lives in Batesville, Virginia with her husband, writer Mark Edmundson.
