James Arthur

James Arthur was born in Connecticut and grew up in Toronto. His first book, Charms Against Lightning, was published in 2012. He has received the Amy Lowell Travelling Poetry Scholarship, a Hodder Fellowship, a Stegner Fellowship, and a Fulbright Scholarship to the Seamus Heaney Centre in Northern Ireland. During 2019, he will be a Visiting Fellow at Exeter College, Oxford. Currently he lives in Baltimore where he is an Assistant Professor in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University.
